The sculptural image of the Ecumenical Teachers of John Chrysostom, Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian and St. Paraskeva Friday, especially revered in Russia, was created according to the Pskov icon of the 15th century. The figures of all the saints are dressed in traditional Greek robes, decorated with Byzantine ornaments. Each of the Saints in his hand book, in the right hand of Paraskeva - a cross. The sculptor has achieved portrait individualization, the spiritual qualities of these outstanding teachers of the church are conveyed in expressive faces. The figures are set on a rectangular pedestal of green jasper. The names are engraved on the metal base of the pedestal. The composition revives the traditions of old Russian wooden sculpture in metal and opens up a new unique direction of decorative sculpture adorned in the technique of Zlatoust metal engraving.
