PC. Klodt is a Russian sculptor, professor of the Russian Academy of Arts, a member of the Rome, Paris, Berlin art academies, the founder of the animalistic genre in Russian art. He worked in the field of small forms plastics, easel and monumental sculpture of a classicist and realistic nature. XIX - early. XX century. The Kasli plant cast about two dozen statuettes and sculptural groups according to the models of P.K. Klodt. The sculpture "Horse with a blanket" was made in 1848-1850 as a sketch for the third group of the monumental ensemble on the theme "The Taming of the Horse" for the Anichkov Bridge in St. Petersburg. The model was the famous stallion Amalatbek, which belonged to Emperor Nicholas I. The figure of a rearing horse with a blanket thrown over the croup. The inscription on the front side of the stand: “Bar. Klodt. ”The Kasli plant has been casting the sculpture since 1887.
