This ship was created as part of the construction of destroyers of the USSR the third generation, designed under the project 956 "Sarych", and acted as multipurpose maneuverable ship designed to combat submarines and surface ships, aircraft, and missiles, to carry out fire support landing, to escort the court to place minefields, to perform intelligence service, and other tasks.
