Description
Organic farming is a rural management system that provides consumers with fresh, tasty and authentic food, with respect for the environment and the natural life cycle of the ecosystem.
To achieve this, organic farming is based on a number of rules and principles, as well as on general practical methods aimed at minimizing human intervention in the environment, while ensuring that the agricultural system works as naturally as possible, at the lowest possible cost (pesticides , fertilizers, antibiotics).
COSMOCERT Agency provides services for the control and certification of organic products for the following categories of products and activities, as provided for in Regulation (EC) 834/2007:
1. Live or unchanged agricultural products of plant origin, pure material for plant propagation and seeds for growing and algae.
2. Live or unchanged agricultural products of animal origin, beekeeping and aquaculture.
3. Feeding, including pastries and fish food.
4. Processed agricultural and aquaculture products for use as food, including baked goods and seaweed.
5. Control of companies over activities at any stage of production, preparation, distribution, storage, import from a third country or export to a third country of environmentally friendly products, excluding mass catering.
6. Verification of the use, labeling and advertising of methods related to organic production.
COSMOCERT Agency provides biological control services in accordance with the BIOSUISSE standard.
Bio Suisse is a registered trademark of Eye (Bud). Their private standards are guidelines that go beyond the minimum legal requirements at important points (European Regulation on Organic Products EC 834/2007 or equivalent) Companies abroad that meet the required standards and wish to sell their products in Switzerland can apply for Bio Suisse certification.
Bio Suisse certification is a valid organic farming certificate equivalent to a Swiss organic farming order.
COSMOCERT offers the Bio Suisse standard inspection, with experienced inspectors for special requirements, combined or not, with regular inspection in accordance with the requirements of the European Organic Production Regulation.
